Why aren’t HT and RC Crystals Registering on My Film Thickness Controller?

From time to time, we have encountered that some film thickness monitors are unable to properly maintain the resonance frequency the HT and RC Crystals require. As a result, these crystals will appear as “dead” or 0% health on the monitor status screen.  This phenomenon can also be termed ‘mode skipping’ and is the result of a remote crystal oscillator lacking fine frequency
filtering. Most commercially available film thickness monitors and remote crystal oscillators lack the circuitry to properly filter the multiple vibration signals that exist with high temperature crystal variants.

Our solution is to replace the original remote oscillator with the Colnatec Universal Crystal Oscillator with advanced signal filtering technology, which is designed to work properly with HT, RC, and SQ crystals.
